Keukenhof and cannabis 2024

You want to go to the Tulip Festival but you don’t know how to plan your trip? We created this guide to allow you to best prepare your excursion but above all we need to answer the famous question: Can we smoke at Keukenhof? It is not illegal to smoke cannabis outdoors in the Netherlands, it remains prohibited in the city center of Amsterdam and in sensitive places such as in front of schools and in certain parks. What about Keukenhof? Being a protected and unpolluted area, we do not recommend that you smoke tobacco or throw your joint butts in the park. On the other hand, if you are careful to keep the place clean and to not disturb the people around then YES it is possible to smoke at Keukenhof!

WHAT IS KEUKENHOF?

The history of Keukenhof dates back to the 15th century. Countess Jacoba van Beieren (1401-1436) used “Keukenduyn” as a hunting ground. Keukenhof Palace was built in 1641 and the estate extended over an area of more than 200 hectares. In 1949, a group of leading flower bulb growers and exporters came up with the idea of creating an exhibition of spring-flowering flower bulb. The park first opened in 1950 and was a great success!

HOW TO PREPARE YOU TRIP?

How much does an excursion to Keukenhof cost you? It costs 20 euros for the entrance tickets and then you have to add the travel costs. You have several options, notably through Tours & Tickets or by train which leaves from Amsterdam Centraal which takes you directly to Haarlem then you will have to take bus 50 which drops you off directly in front of the gardens. So count on approximately 20 euros for your transport, you can obviously get there by car or by bike for the bravest among you.

What to do at Keukenhof? Rich in its gardens, Keukenhof offers 32 hectares of varied gardens with more than 7 million flowers from 800 different species. You will also have the opportunity to see mills (emblematic building of the Netherlands) almost everywhere in the gardens.

WHAT ABOUT CANNABIS?

As we said earlier it is not illegal to smoke outdoors, however there are some rules that will help you avoid causing problems during your visit. The priority is not to disturb other visitors and not to damage the landscape, for this we recommend that you use Edible products (like our Space Blocks and Space Cakes) which will not spread any smell to the surrounding area, if you want to keep on combustion we invite you to go to the many isolated spaces of the park where you can easily light a joint without disturbing anyone. Above all, remember to collect your joints butts and not throw ashes or other things on the flowers and in the gardens
